Senior Pastor

Pastor Coleman is passionate about preaching verse-by-verse sermons that show God’s Word to be relevant for all of life. His desire for Houston Northeast is that God will showcase His presence and glory, through transformed lives, in undeniable and ever-increasing ways. He earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M and a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Before entering full-time ministry, he worked as an engineer for a private consulting firm in Houston. Coleman and his wife Jennifer were high school sweethearts. They married in 2007 and have four children (Josiah, Levi, Hannah & Judah). He enjoys anything sports-related and time in the woods or on the water.

Executive Pastor

Darrell is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the church, including managing the leadership team, the church budget, and churchwide programming. Darrell has been attending Houston Northeast since 2014 and was ordained as one of our pastors in 2022. He is currently enrolled at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary pursuing a Masters of Divinity (MDiv). Darrell became a Christian and was baptized at the Hamptons Christian & Missionary Alliance church in Water Mill, NY. He has a degree in Network Administration and was the IT Director for a nearby school district before joining the staff. Darrell was born in 1981. Darrell and Jennifer were married in 2019 at Houston Northeast.

Worship Pastor

With over 25 years of ministry experience, Ben Donnelly has a passion for creating worship experiences that draw people into a deeper relationship with God. His approach to worship blends musical excellence with a deep desire to see lives transformed by the presence of God.
Ben and his wife, Robin, have been married for 18 years and have two children, Cohen and Arden. Outside of music and spending time with his family, he enjoys softball, hunting, and water sports. Additionally, Ben serves with Fellowship of Christian Athletes at the University of Houston as well as chaplain for area police departments.

Mobilizaztion Pastor

Brandon serves as the Mobilization Pastor, where he welcomes first-time guests, new members, and new believers, helping them take next steps in following Jesus. He walks alongside the church family as they learn to live sent in northeast Houston and to the nations.
Brandon came to personal faith in Jesus after hearing the testimony of an Air Force serviceman, and as a teenager at camp, he surrendered to vocational ministry after reading Ezra 7:10. Since the age of 17, Brandon has served in ministry for more than 25 years, including nearly 10 years at Houston Northeast and three years with the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention (SBTC). In addition to student ministry, he has served as a discipleship pastor, sports chaplain, ministry consultant, and in a variety of other ministry roles.
Brandon is married to his high school sweetheart, Heather, and they are blessed with four children.

Adult Pastor

Chris was born and raised in the Bay Area of Northern California. At an early age, he accepted Christ as his Savior. After graduating from a local university, Chris moved to Fort Worth, Texas to attend Southwestern Seminary, graduating with a Master of Divinity degree.
Chris is devoted to serving, discipling, and preaching within the local church. With a heart for reaching the lost and cultivating healthy disciples of Christ, he is committed to fostering spiritual growth in our community.
Chris and Megan were married in 2023.

Student Pastor

Matheu is responsible for assisting with the shepherding of the entire congregation with a primary responsibility for Students in grades 6-12. Matheu became a Christian and was baptized at Orange County First Assembly (formerly known as Orange County Worship Center). Matheu has been in ministry voluntarily for 8 years with different ministries and full-time at Houston Northeast since April of 2022. Matheu was born in 1996. Matheu and Abbey met on a mission trip in 2017 and married in 2020. Matheu enjoys bass fishing and golfing.

Northeast Kids Director

Kim is responsible for assisting with vision implementation churchwide, with a primary responsibility for infants to fifth grade. She has been a member of Houston Northeast since 2005 and has served in a variety of leadership roles in both the children’s and music ministries. Kim served as Director of the Early Childhood Center at Houston Northeast from 2011 - 2018 and then joined the general staff of Houston Northeast as the Children’s Associate from 2018 - 2023. Kim became a Christian and was baptized at the First Church of the Nazarene, Pasadena, Texas. She graduated from the University of Houston- Clear Lake with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education. Kim worked in the public school system until she and her husband John started their family. Kim and John have been married for 33 years and have three daughters.
